The Jenks Lady Trojans beat the Bixby Spartans 7-3 Tuesday night in front of a great crowd at Hunter-Dwelley Stadium. Bailey Strong, Kaylee Dao, and Nayeli Perez each finished the game with two goals for the Trojans with Marlo Zoller scoring once and picking up two assists. The Lady Trojans held a 2-0 lead going into halftime thanks to Bailey Strong’s clinical finishes from outside the 18 yard box. Kaylee Dao scored in the first five minutes of the second half followed by beautiful goal by Marlo Zoller who dribbled from sixty-five yards out, taking on four Spartan defenders, and then finishing far post. The scoring went back and forth late in the second half with Bixby picking up their first goal which was quickly answered by a goal from Nayeli Perez. The Spartans then finished off a set piece followed by another goal from Perez just minutes later. Bixby scored once more just before Kaylee Dao put away the seventh goal for the Trojans to end the second half. It was a great Senior Night with lots of excitement on the field and from the crowd. The Lady Trojans will be tested this weekend when they travel to Bishop Kelley for the Heart of America Tournament. The Trojans take on the defending state champions, Norman North, in the first game at 9:45am Friday morning.
